Orange Chocolate Loaf

Recipe makes 1 loaf

Ingredients:

- 150g butter

- 120g brown sugar

- 2 eggs

- 1 tsp vanilla paste/extract

- 125ml buttermilk (make your own by adding in 1tsp vinegar to milk and leaving for 5 minutes)

- Zest and juice of 1 orange

- 225g flour

- Pinch of salt

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 cup chopped chocolate

Instructions:

- Preheat your oven to 175C

- Brown your butter in a small pan and set aside, adding in an ice cube to cool to room temperature

- Cream together your sugar and your butter. Add in the eggs and vanilla paste and mix to combine

- Add in the buttermilk, orange zest and orange juice. Mix to combine

- Combine the dry ingredients and sift in. Using a spatula, gently fold to combine. Add in your chopped chocolate.

- Oil your cake tin and line with baking paper. Pour the cake batter in and place in the oven for 40 minutes.
